Law Practice – How to Grow It, or Partner Up
Lawyers working as solos and in small firm law practices: have you thought about growing your practice or partnering up? Of course you have!
Upcoming presentation on Law Practice
Come by the Boston Bar Association next Monday, Oct. 26, from 2pm-3pm, for a talk titled “Not Solo Forever: How to Grow Your Practice or Partner Up” (talk is free, link to register here).
Our panel of speakers are Howard J. Castleman, of Castleman Law LLC; Justine H. Brousseau, of Kimball Brousseau LLP; and Catherine E. Reuben, of Hirsch Roberts Weinstein LLP. They’ll be covering a range of issues relevant to attorneys looking to grow their law practice, including:
- Partnerships: Bringing on a Partner or joining another firm as a Partner
- Adding Staff – What to consider when adding new associates, contract attorneys, or of counsel assistance to your firm
- “Contract” attorneys, the hiring process, policies and ethical duties, and termination
- How to get (or provide) project or case assistance absent a formalized employer / employee relationship.
- What to include, and avoid, in Operating Agreements for a Firm or LLC
My goal
At the BBA’s Solo and Small Firm Section, we aim to plan discussions that support and educate attorneys in law practice in the Greater Boston area. As co-chair of the Solo and Small Firm Section, I welcome your suggestions for future topics. Please let me know if you have questions about the program. I look forward to seeing you there.
